I enjoyed very much our visit to the Miami Culinary Institute. The Miami Culinary Institute is a new building in downtown, it is pretty nice inside. We had the opportunity to visit three different labs where the students prepare their food. They have an especial lab only for bakery. They also have an especial kitchen in the fifth floor where they prepare the restaurant’s food. In the last floor they have their restaurant named by its students “Tuyo.” It is an expensive restaurant, but it is also really elegant and fancy. They told us that “Tuyo”is going to participate in Miami Spice during the month of August, which is an event where the fanciest restaurants prepare an affordable menu for the public. We had a lecture from its chef director, John Richards, who explains us about the programs they are offering to students. He also told us about the garden they have closed to the parking lot where they have vegetables, and his students go there to select the perfect ingredient for their dishes. He explained us that sometimes you should left the vegetables one or more days to be in better conditions for human consumption. They also offer short-courses about different dishes for one or two days a week. They have a beautiful café in the first floor, which has an excellent food and desserts. We had the opportunity to taste potatoes soup, sandwiches and dessert, all of them were amazing. I strongly recommended to all my friend to visit the café and the restaurant “Tuyo.”
